Permits are available around the end of January of each year.
Launch fees support the upkeep and management of County-managed boat launches. Collection tubes are located at select ramps, and lake users are encouraged to contribute to help maintain these shared resources. Not all boat launches have fee collection tubes. If your preferred launch does not have a collection station, please consider a once-per-season contribution.
There are 3 ways to purchase a 2026 permit:
- Stop at the county office at 4319 Expo Drive Manitowoc WI 54220
- Mail a $20 check and a note with your vehicle license plate and your return address to:

- Stop at any Manitowoc County managed boat launch with a collection tube* after April 1, 2026 (this date may vary depending on weather conditions), complete the blue launch envelope, indicate seasonal, include $20 and once collected, the County will mail you a boat launch permit. Please note this option may take a little longer depending on when the envelopes are collected.
*There are no collection tubes at Gass, Hartlaub, Shoe, Spring, Tuma, East Twin, or Weyers Lakes.
