Life Beneath the Ice and Wisconsin’s Citizen Lake Monitoring Network at LTC

UWExtension Lakes Program, University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, sponsored in conjunction with Sanitary District #1, Cedar Lake

Paul will be in town for two days to conduct a series of meetings and field exercises. He has done extensive work on the ecology of lakes beneath the ice, and authored several articles on the topic. On the 9th, he will be meeting with volunteers beginning at 12:30pm at Cedar Lake to search for evidence of aquatic invasive plants. That evening he will make a presentation regarding Life Beneath the Ice and Wisconsin’s Citizen Lake Monitoring Network at LTC, and he will have samples of aquatic life from Cedar Lake.

On the Friday the 10th Paul will host a Citizen’s Lake Monitoring Network meeting with volunteers, and will resume the sampling at Cedar Lake. Friday meetings will take place beginning at 9:00 am. As the field events are subject to ice conditions, it is recommended that those attending verify times.
